The International Research Network on Advanced Knowledge, Science and Innovation for Development (RIICACID) designs and promotes high-caliber training programs aimed at strengthening the competencies of researchers, academics, and professionals. Dr. César de Prado holds a B.A. in Economics and International Business Administration from the Autonomous University of Madrid and earned a Ph.D. in Global Politics in 2002 from the European University Institute in Florence (Italy) with a dissertation on technological standards. Subsequently, he conducted research and taught at universities in Sweden, Japan, Spain, Macau, Mainland China, and Taiwan. He currently serves as a researcher and consultant for universities, think tanks, and development agencies across multiple countries, including the Center for Asian Studies at the University of Valladolid (Spain). He is the sole author of three monographs and over sixty scholarly articles, book chapters, and policy papers. His research focuses on the intersection of major powers—particularly China—and the governance frameworks advanced by middle powers, notably European nations, and peripheral regions such as Latin America.
